Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship
- Do you want to start your own businesses, work in an existing start-up, or work for an established firm that wants to create new products or services to fuel growth? Then Entrepreneurship may be for you! The goal of the undergraduate programs (a major and two minors) is to help students transform into people who can think and act like Entrepreneurs: recognizing opportunity and creating solutions to leverage those opportunities.
- Marketing is life! Well, maybe not exactly, but not much happens in any kind of business without effective marketing. Marketing involves the design, pricing, distribution, promotion, and selling of products and services to other businesses and people. There are two undergraduate majors and a minor in the Marketing Department. Students majoring in Managerial Marketing or Marketing have employment opportunities in fields such as business to business and consumer sales, product management, international marketing, marketing research, marketing communications, and industrial purchasing. These jobs are found with manufacturers, wholesalers, and retail organizations. Recently, there has been an increased demand for marketing graduates from nonprofit organizations, the health care industry, service firms, and the public sector.
- Students who want the best of both worlds can double major in either Managerial Marketing and Entrepreneurship or Marketing and Entrepreneurship.
The Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship also offers a MBA concentration in Marketing and a Ph.D. in Marketing or Entrepreneurship.
