Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What period of time do the scholarships cover?
A: For the scholarships to be awarded in the spring of 2014, the funds are to be used in fall semester 2014 and spring 2015. Award letters (given at the scholarship banquet) detail the dollars which are awarded in each semester. Scholarship funds are NOT applicable to Summer 2014.

Q: Do I have to be a full-time student to receive a scholarship?

A: At this time, all scholarships are open only to full-time students.

Q: Do I have to be an accounting major at the time of scholarship application?
A: Yes, you must be a declared accounting major to be eligible for an accounting scholarship.

Q: What happens to my scholarship if I get an internship for spring semester and I have a scholarship for spring semester?

A: Contact Dr. Tietz as soon as you know you have an internship at to discuss your situation.

Q: I see that there are scholarship forms for the College of Business. Are these the same scholarships? Do I need to fill out both applications?
A: The scholarships offered through the Accounting Department are separate from the College of Business scholarships. To be considered for both sets of scholarships, you must select all of the scholarships you are interested in on the online form. You can potentially receive scholarships from both sources (but only if you apply to both!).
