Dear Friends,

With the sun still shining and the warm glow of Porthouse still with us, we are pleased to announce the 2014 season: PORTHOUSE THEATRE--WHERE THE STARS COME OUT! And we are offering a star-studded line up!

Our season opens with on June 12 with MY FAIR LADY starring Greg Violand and Kayce Green!  You loved them as Emile and Nellie in SOUTH PACIFIC and you will love them even more as Henry Higgins and Eliza Doolittle. Lerner and Loewe’s effervescent adaptation of George Bernard Shaw’s PYGMALION is one of the most exquisite musicals ever written. This intimate, two-piano version, approved by composer Frederick Loewe, promises to illuminate the story in ways you haven’t heard before.

Our second show of the season is a musical for all ages! STARMITES features Colleen Longshaw, (Bloody Mary in SOUTH PACIFIC), and the Young Professional Company.  It’s a high-energy adventure fantasy in which humans and heroes conquer the sinister inhabitants of Innerspace.  They discover love, loyalty, inner strength and a great doo-wop beat along the way.  With the timeless appeal of THE WIZARD OF OZ and, LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, STARMITES is a bolt of theatrical lightning that will jolt you to your feet.  This all-American-musical with a powerhouse score is a show for everyone!

Our grand finale of the summer is the well-crafted tale, OLIVER! Brian Johnson (Jim in BIG RIVER) and Assistant Artistic Director Eric van Baars take the lead in this musical classic, based on Charles Dickens’ novel.  It will engage you with its pathos and drama, while delighting you with its outstanding musical numbers. Food, Glorious Food, I'd Do Anything, Where is Love?, Consider Yourself, As Long As He Needs Me, Who Will Buy and Reviewing the Situation are musical theatre classics. Dickens' character Bill Sykes will be brought to life by Brian Johnson and Eric van Baars, will "pick a pocket or two" as Fagin.
