Kent Keyboard Series Honors Frederic Chopin's 100th Birthday

The highly-acclaimed Piano Division of the Hugh A. Glauser School of Music at KeKent Keyboard Series presents Donna Leent State University will continue its 2009-2010 Keyboard Series, which, this year is featuring Frederic Chopin – the Great Romantic- in honor of his 100th birthday.

The final concert in this popular concert series will be performed by Donna Lee, Kent State faculty member and Steinway Artist. Lee will present works by composers who inspired or who were inspired by the Romantic master in a program of Bach, Mozart, Crumb and Chopin's monumental Sonata No. 3. 

Donna Lee began her piano studies at age 5, won her first state competition at age 6, and made her orchestral debut as a soloist at age 10. Since then, she has given concerts in Asia, Europe and throughout the United States, where her performances have been described by critics as elegant and refined (Il Fronimo, Italy), engaging (WCLV-Cleveland) and brilliant (Iwate Daily News, Japan), With degrees from Peabody Conservatory, The Juilliard School, and University of Maryland, Donna serves on the faculty of Kent State University; during the summers, she is co-director of the Piano Institute at Kent State, artist-faculty at Kent/Blossom Chamber Music, and Brevard Music Center in North Carolina.
