Kent State University at Stark Music Department presents Flutes Around the World on Sunday, Jan. 30 at 3 p.m. in Main Hall Auditorium, 6000 Frank Avenue NW in Jackson Township. The concert is free and open to the public. No tickets are required.
Israeli musicians Hagit Rosmarin and Gil Bohadana will perform several wind instrument compositions, featuring the ethnic music from Ireland and Serbia, in addition to other traditional arrangements. Rosmarin, an accomplished flutist, has been a soloist and accompanied various bands, touring in New York, Israel and throughout Europe. She is currently the flutist accompaniment for the Israeli Flamenco Dance Company. Bohadana has performed on wind instruments for several bands, including the South American duo, Canaan. He is currently involved in ECO, a project combining music and ecology and features instruments that he has made of recycled materials. For his environmental work in music, Bohadana has performed for the Israeli Parliament. Some of his created instruments are on display in the Science Museum in Haifa, Israel.
