Carol Hummel Lecture "Art: The Universal Language"
KSU alumna Carol Hummel is an Ohio-based visual artist best known for large-scale site-specific projects. She generates intense communal experiences by creating installations that involve entire communities in the creative process, thus breaking through societal barriers of age, sex, ethnicity and economic status.
She believes art has the potential to transcend cultural boundaries and to act as a neutral, all-encompassing mediator between cultures, traditions and beliefs and a vehicle for celebrating diversity and encouraging harmony.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Photojournalism and a Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture from Kent State University.
