Future Cadets

Welcome Future Cadets to Air Force ROTC Detachment 630.

Congratulations on your decision to join the AFROTC program at Detachment 630, located at Kent State University.  We look forward to meeting you and helping you achieve your goal of becoming a commissioned officer in the world's greatest Air Force!

We are offering a voluntary New Cadet Orientation Program (NCOP) for our new cadets and their guests Wednesday, August 20 and Thursday, August 21.

Wednesday, August 20 @ 2:00 p.m. ~~ Air Force ROTC will be hosting a welcome social for new students, parents and families. Our current cadets and staff will provide an overview of the AFROTC program, a briefing on scholarship opportunities, a discussion of what life is like in the Air Force and a question and answer session.

Thursday, August 21 @ 9:00 a.m. ~~ New Air Force ROTC students will report to DET 630 to complete the in-process session that includes building cadet records, military training and physical activity.  Come showered, clean-shaven, well-rested and ready to begin your journey as a cadet in Air Force ROTC.

All cadets have the opportunity to move in the morning of Wednesday, August 20, 2014.  This opportunity will allow students to be settled in dorms prior to the official start of NCOP and avoid the mass freshman move in day.  Students must complete the appropriate resident paperwork and have a housing assignment in addition to signing up and reserving a spot with AFROTC.  There will be a $25 fee that may be added to your bill and payable to the Bursar.
