Participate in Kent State University’s 2010 Homecoming ParadePosted Sep. 3, 2010
Kent State University and the city of Kent invite organizations to participate in the university’s 2010 Homecoming Parade. The parade is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 9. This year’s parade theme is Flashback to the Future. Entrants are responsible for securing their own parade mobility, whether by foot or vehicle. Signs and banners are also the responsibility of the entrant. Parade participants may bring their own sign or the university can make signs for them (entry forms and more details are available at http://www.kent.edu/csi/homecoming-2010.cfm). Parade entries are welcome to pass out their organization’s promotional items and candy to the parade spectators, both children and adults.
The parade will step off at 10 a.m. from the Kent State campus and will proceed west on Main Street. The parade will conclude at approximately 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of Main Street and Franklin Avenue in downtown Kent.
All entries must be postmarked by Friday, Sept. 17, for consideration of acceptance into the 2010 Homecoming Parade. Entries will be confirmed upon receipt of the registration form. Parade registration, staging and disbanding location, map and additional information will be sent to the entry’s contact person by Oct. 4.
