Program Areas

The School of Biomedical Sciences is comprised of over 100 highly talented graduate faculty that are committed to excellence in research and teaching. Their expertise range from molecular, to cellular and organismal levels of biological organization, often with a focus on understanding human disease states.  Primary appointments of our faculty are at Kent State University, Northeast Ohio Medical University, and Lerner Research Institute of the Cleveland Clinic. Collectively, their work is supported by grants from the major public and private funding agencies, including the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, the Department of Education, the Department of Defense, the American Heart Association, the Ohio Board of Regents and a number of private companies. Over the past five years, our faculty were awarded over $150 million in extramural funds to support their research.

We have five degree programs that are reflective of the research expertise of our faculty.
