CS reaches K-12 at StarkPosted Mar. 15, 2010
Hands-on activity was completed by 8th grade students at the CS Department at Stark.
Friday March 12th, marks the end of a series of 3 selected Fridays that brought almost 300 8th grade students from the Massillon Middle School to the Stark campus. Dr. Angela Guercio, Assistant Professor of Computer Science Department at Stark has hosted approximately 100 students in a lab activity titled: “Discover the world of Web Design”, a hands-on lab activity that introduced the students to the creation of web pages. The event, which is part of the KSU Stark Campus Visit program, targets local 8th grade students in Stark County schools, and brings students with their teachers and administrators for five hours during which they actively participate in lessons. The event has been very well received and was proposed after the success of a similar Fall event in which Dr. Guercio hosted approximately 50 students from the Hartford Middle school.
